Best Actress Oscar: Who Will Win?

Vote for your favorite.
By Audacy

The Oscars are right around the corner and we’re excited to see who will take home this year’s slate of little golden men. This year’s best actress nominees include acting royalty, music royalty and someone who is at least playing British royalty. Who do you think is going to take home the Oscar for best actress?

Check out the nominees and cast your vote for best performance of the year below.

Yalitza Aparicio, Roma

Roma, released on Netflix, swept across the Oscar nominations, picking up 10 total, including a best actress nod for 25-year-old Yalitza Aparicio. Not only is it the Mexican actress’s first Oscar nomination, it’s her first credited role in film or TV.

Glenn Close, The Wife

The seven time Oscar nominee is the heavy favorite to win best actress. Glenn Close caught the eye of Academy members for her role as the wife a Nobel Laureate who has a rather…complicated relationship with her husband. No spoilers here. Go watch her emotional performance if you haven’t already.

Olivia Colman, The Favourite

Olivia Colman already brought home a BAFTA for her performance as Queen Anne in the cuttingly funny period piece The Favourite earlier this month. But will she be able to duplicate that feat at this year’s Oscars?

Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born

Lady Gaga showed almost everything in her toolbox in A Star Is Born. If the multi-talented nominee doesn’t take home the award for best actress, she’ll still have a great shot at winning the prize for best song for Shallow.

Melissa McCarthy, Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Melissa McCarthy’s performance as one-time celebrity biographer Lee Israel flew a bit under-the-radar. But her performance, which is practically subdued compared to the over-the-top, pooped-in-the-sink version of McCarthy that was nominated for Bridesmaids, is well worth watching.
